Will Zidane and Garnet really go on a date if I let him win the hunting festival? I've laid my memories and dreams upon those wings.. Alas, no. With everything else that happens later, they don't have time. I'm sure they make up for it later, though Apparently, what we're doing at the moment is 'sprinkling our magic along the way'. It's a call centre, not Hogwarts. I always let Freya win the festival so she can get that add-on. But always felt guilty that i didnt let Zidane win so he can get that date.

In order to get Vivi to win, Zidane and Freya must both lose. Play with Zidane as normal until about is left and go to the Business District.
The Zaghnol will be there to fight. When you begin the battle, Freya joins in as a playable character. Either let the Zaghnol kill you, or just attack yourselves. Once both characters are defeated, the Festival will be over and Vivi will be the winner.

Dialogue is slightly affected and many players recommend that you let Freya win fight Zaghnol, steal his items, make sure Freya is ahead in points, and do NOT kill Zaghnol for the Coral Ring much better than Gil or a Card, both of which you'll get easily anyway.
User Info: Kraleck. It does not affect the storyline, just the items you got after the festival. If Zidane win, you got Gil. If Freya Win, you got Coral Ring, which is clearly more useful at the time. You can actually make Freya deal the finishing blow with Zidane alive, but you really have to do it on purpose : Zaghnol is secretly guarded from KO the first 3 or 4 times Freya deal enough damage to kill him.
